COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability should be a focus for any contracting company, and for good reason. As the world’s population continues to grow, the need for sustainable development has become more pressing, and large construction companies, in particular, have a responsibility to ensure that their projects are sustainable, as they have a significant impact on the environment and communities.

At MARCO, we believe in the importance of promoting the improvement of construction sustainability in the Kingdom. Below are just some of the ways we put that belief into practice at every project site.

Preserve the Current Worksite:

With an erosion and sediment plan, a commitment to protecting or restoring the natural habitat, and a safe way to create bunded areas and ensure clean up for any hazardous waste and materials, we’ll leave the worksite in the same, or better, condition than we found it.

Preserve Resources:

Water efficiency and smart energy systems are a recommended feature for all of our projects. We prioritize minimizing resource consumption with practices that include

Waste Management:

Any materials that can be reused or repurposed are either used in the project or are distributed to a third party who can use them for another purpose. Spill protection materials are in place and organic waste is held in compost bins for use later in the project.

Compliance:

We make sure that all of our work is in compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and approvals.

Innovation:

We encourage new ideas and innovations, both internally and with our supply chain, that will create sustainable value for our key stakeholders.
